English - The new business language

Did you know that there are roughly 6,500 languages in the world? And out of all those languages, English is the world's 2nd most spoken language. I feel as if that would've been an easy answer to guess since English is used in many countries all around the world. Even the smallest countries such a Barbados use English for formal conversation. The bigger picture is that many countries are adapting to English being one of their 2nd or 3rd language. English has become an official language for the business world. It is the global business language. According to this post I was reading on Japan's business world, the blogger, Hiroshi Mikitani, states this:

The only way to compete in this interconnected Internet age is to speak the language of the market - and that language is English.

- Hiroshi Mikitani, Japan's new business language - English. (The Straits Times)

That is 100% correct because English is used, as I've mentioned before, almost everywhere in the world. The only way to keep up in the business industry is by knowing the language and keeping up with the time because the industry is growing rapidly, and we must grow with it.
